Foreign Partner Services and Organisations

The AH would not be able to perform its professional work without international cooperation and exchange of information. Therefore, the Office maintains relations with some 60 services in nearly 50 countries. In doing so, it expresses and enforces the priority of national interests, along with reciprocity and a relation of equal partners as main principles. In addition to professional considerations, AH focuses on Hungary’s foreign policy priorities and the interests of its allies and the EU.

As a part of the bilateral cooperation between the Office and its partner services, a number of expert meetings are held on specific issues which successfully assist the AH in performing its tasks. Besides bilateral relations, the AH is a full member of several multilateral forums. Hungary’s term of EU Presidency (in the first half of 2011) imposes extra duties on the Office, calls for more intensive action in the international arena and, at the same time, promotes a positive image of the country and the Office.
